Bishop Onesimus Asiimwe Concludes his pastoral visits to the 11 Parishes of Nyakagyeme Archdeaconry

Welcomed and led by Ven. Eldad Kashanje a team of clergy, and Canons, Bishop Onesimus and his wife Maama Florence Asiimwe traversed the parishes of Nyakagyeme Archdeaconry, starting from Masya, Munyeganyegye, Bucence, Kyabugashe, Kahoko, Nyamifura, Nyakagyeme, Rwerere, Kasoroza, Kyamurari and finally Nyakinengo.

The bishop preached the gospel of Jesus Christ which was his Central Purpose for his maiden visit following his vision of the revival of North Kigezi, a gospel that brought a total of 2,850 people to Christ.

He also confirmed a total of 1,090 new Christians and welcomed 53 people who converted from other religious denominations to the Anglican Church of Uganda.

In addition to the gospel of Jesus Christ, Bishop Onesimus continues to preach the gospel of development; encouraging churches to engage in coffee planting so as to have an alternative source of income and reduce dependency on money that is always offered. The bishop also preached the gospel of saving among people as he encouraged them to open up accounts with the North Kigezi Diocese SACCO, educate their children as he consistently stated that “Education is an equalizer!” with emphasis on the education of the boy child.

While on his last pastoral visit in Nyakinengo Parish in Nyakagyeme Archdeaconry, the Bishop visited One family of Mrs. Joy Tuhairwe that had been tending a satanic altar in their home in alcohol and accepted to burn everything that is evil. The bishop together with the archdeacon Ven. Eldad Kashanje and a team of clergy burnt everything and prayed for the family members and the power of God set them free from every bondage.
