Diocesan Education Coordinator Releases Diocesan Pre mock Exam Results

North Kigezi Diocese News

The Diocesan Education Coordinator (DEC) officially released the diocesan pre mock examination results for both Senior Four and Senior Six students. The event took place on May 28, 2025, at Riverside Hotel in Rukungiri Municipality.

Mr. Mukunzi Denis, in charge of academics under the Church of Uganda Heads of Education Institutions Association (COUHEIA SECONDARY), noted in his remarks that the examinations are meant to assess how prepared and ready the students are to sit their final UNEB exams.

While releasing the examination results, Rev. Munturive Nshaba Ruhanga stated that all Senior Four students passed with a result 1. He also mentioned that the Senior Six results are promising, although none of the students achieved the full 20 points.

However, the DEC emphasized that although students understand the concepts, they still lack the knowledge and creativity needed to approach and answer exam questions effectively. He called upon headteachers of the various schools to invite UNEB examiners to train students in question interpretation and answering techniques.

He added that the examinations not only foster a sense of belonging among the students but also serve to unite them. He urged the heads of institutions to also consider co-curricular activities, including the Bishop’s Football Cup competitions.

During the same event, the association recognized and appreciated the former DEC, Mr. Kenneth Sabiiti Baabo, and his wife for their exemplary coordination during his tenure as the Education Coordinator in the North Kigezi Diocese. He was given a token of one million (1,000,000 UGX) Uganda Shillings.

While speaking at the same function, Mr. Kenneth Sabiiti thanked all the headteachers who worked with him and made his work easier throughout his tenure. He acknowledged that his success was largely due to the support of the headteachers.

Referencing Proverbs 22:6, the acting Diocesan Secretary, Mr. Micheal Mukiza, reminded the heads of institutions of their responsibility to guide, train, and nurture the young minds entrusted to them by parents.

Speaking to the headteachers, he said that the premock results reflect their commitment to excellence and serve as a yardstick to improve or maintain academic standards. He called upon the heads to motivate students to perform at their best. Using 1 Thessalonians 5:12–13, he also thanked and acknowledged the former DEC, Mr. Kenneth Sabiiti, for his excellent service.
