North Kigezi Diocese Pastors’ Wives Urged to Prioritize Holistic Health

North Kigezi Diocese News

Pastors’ wives in North Kigezi Diocese have been urged to prioritize their spiritual, mental and physical health to strengthen their families and church ministries.

The call was made by Phillipa Piper during a one-day conference held at the Canon Beatrice Ruhindi Skills Training Centre in Kinyasano, Rukungiri District.

Phillipa Piper emphasized spiritual growth as the foundation of a healthy life. Drawing from 1 Peter 2:9, Hebrews 13:5 and Zephaniah 3:17, she reminded participants that they are chosen, treasured and deeply loved by God.

She cited the story of Hannah in 1 Samuel to highlight the power of heartfelt prayer, encouraging the women to present their struggles to God. The story of Rahab in Joshua 2, and her inclusion in the genealogy of Jesus in Matthew 1, was also shared as a testimony of forgiveness and restoration. Referencing 2 Corinthians 5:17, she stressed that anyone in Christ is a new creation.

She also addressed mental health, stress management and practical ways of maintaining physical well-being. Participants engaged in discussions and brief exercise activities aimed at promoting balanced living.

Maama Florence Asiimwe urged pastors’ wives to remain steadfast in faith despite family challenges. She thanked those who attended and encouraged them to apply the lessons learned in their homes and churches.

The conference brought together clergy wives from across the diocese for fellowship, reflection and empowerment in ministry.
